There are many small lakes in the area catering for all manner of water sports. The nearest, Bussiere-Galant, is only three miles away. This is a small lake with a sandy beach and a lifeguard, where the water is tested daily, making it particularly suitable for smaller children. Bussiere also offers pony trekking, a volley ball area, a vélorail and a refreshment area.

St Saud, just a little further away, is similar to Bussiere but better equipped. The shaded play area is new and much appreciated.

Not far away at 'Jumilhac le Grand' and 'La Tour Blanche' there are small rock faces equipped for climbing. At Limoges there is a small attraction park and an animal park suitable for small children.

Lac de St Pardoux, north of Limoges and the lake at Lanouaille cater for wind surfers and other water sports. For the energetic, try go-karting at Pageas and canoeing at Brantome.

There are golf courses in Limoges and Perigueux, tennis courts in Chalus and Thiviers and fishing in the lake in Firbeix costs 6 Euros for half a day and 8 Euros for a full day.
